Join us for Community Dance Day 2026, a joyful festival of dance for the whole family. Enjoy two inspiring performances, five hands-on workshops and a host of family-friendly activities including face painting, henna, circus skills and live entertainment. Whether you're watching, participating or discovering something new, there's something for everyone at Peterborough's family dance festival.

A magical, interactive dance performance for ages 2-7 inviting families to twirl, play and discover belonging through movement, music and imagination.
NIDA
Performance at 5pm | Key Theatre
Tickets £8 per person | Age 4+
NIDA is an invitation to step into a glowing, intimate space where beautiful Kathak dance and soulful Indian music meet. This brand-new work from award-winning Sonia Sabri Company aims to capture the feeling of ‘home’ through the intricate movements and melodies of dancer and musician.

Join Chloe from Chloe’s Dance Company for a morning of workshops guaranteed to get your little ones giggling and wiggling.
Classical Indian Dance
2:30-3:15pm | Swan Room | £5 per person | Age 4+
Discover the rhythm, storytelling and expressive movement of Bharatanatyam: one of India’s oldest classical dance forms.
Beatbox and Hip Hop
1:15-2:15pm | Willow Room | £5 per person | Age 7+
Learn to use your voice in weird and wonderful ways in this introductory workshop.
Swordplay
11-12:30pm | Willow Room | £5 per person | Age 12+
Discover the art, movement and creativity behind traditional sword practice.
Gumboot
1-3pm | Willow Room | £5 per person | Age 12+
Using stamping boots, claps and body percussion, you’ll explore how dancers turned sound into communication and transformed a history of hardship into an expressive celebration of movement.

Community Dance Showcase (FREE - No Booking Required)
Time: 12:45pm - 2:00pm | Room: Studio Theatre | Cost: FREE
Enjoy a true spectacle of dance! Watch practitioners of Shiamak Bollywood Dance, along with Jenna Unwin and Faith Falayi from our recent Cypher project, and trained artists in Classical Indian and Lithuanian dance styles as they take to the stage and put on a fun and interactive show. Be sure to clap along, or join in from your seats.
All ages welcome.

Inside The Venue:
Workshops, shows and viewings will be held in various spaces in the theatre building, including the Swan Room, the Studio Auditorium, and the Spires Meeting Room. Please see below for details.
Please note: the Key Theatre is a cashless venue.
Refreshments:
Light vegetarian refreshments will be provided (Gluten-free options available).
The Key Theatre’s Riverside Bar will be open so you can purchase any other refreshments you need.
