Fierce Talent Sounding Board
We are looking for six driven, responsible and passionate 16–24-year-olds to be the Sounding Board for Fierce Talent.
The Sound Board will meet at least six times from February to July 2021 to share ideas, discuss issues around arts and culture in Peterborough, particularly for young people, and to shape Jumped Up’s plans. This is a fantastic opportunity for personal development and to be connected to like-minded individuals and influence decision-making.
Jumped Up is a Peterborough-based company who work with artists, communities and organisations to make events, create performances and lead campaigns. We have a history of creating work with communities, making shows from their stories or having community participants as performers, campaigners or participants. We also collaborate with community partners in shaping and delivering projects.
Fierce Talent is the first phase of our Moving Roots programme: three live performances and participation projects made with, by and for Peterborough over the next three years.
We are recruiting (and paying!) 6 x 16–24-year old’s to make up a Sounding Board for Moving Roots’ first year, to help shape two projects:
· Fierce Talent - a film and spoken word project celebrating young talent in Peterborough.
· Rent Party - a Peterborough remaking of Darren Pritchard’s hit show, telling the stories of exceptional performers and their experiences.
The Sounding Board will also shape choices for future Moving Roots shows.
The Sounding Board members will be reimbursed for their time. This opportunity is available to any local 16–24-year-old person from any background - i.e. you don’t have to be an artist or performer. We want to include anyone who may have felt excluded from the arts and/or under-represented but who share Jumped Up’s vision to create to positive change and growth for arts and culture in our city.
