Environmental Responsibility
At Jumped Up Theatre, we approach the climate crisis in a practical way which embodies our values.
Tackling the climate crisis is the most significant challenge facing the world today. We will lead and work with others to create change by:
Taking action ourselves, as an organisation and as individuals, to reduce our environmental impact.
Support others to do the same, using our financial and social resources.
Challenge the dominant global power structures that fail to provide our environment with protections, such as deprioritising climate actions, disregarding scientific consensus, silencing marginalised voices and perpetuating ecocide.
We will take action to harness the power of arts and culture to express heartfelt truths and address deep-rooted injustices, to care for and create adaptive, resilient and joyful communities, and to influence the urgent and necessary transformation of harmful global systems.
Taking responsibility for our organisational environmental impact, and our potential to be part of the change, needs to be:
We will take responsibility for our own actions, support environmental practice of those we collaborate with (artists, audiences and participants) and celebrate action taken.
Equality and inclusion are parallel values that sit alongside our environmental responsibility, We recognise that everyone has different needs and capacity to take environmental action.
