Jumped Up has been bringing art and events to Peterborough since 2006. We want you to know what to expect when you come to our events or activities. You should expect place-based art with stories told by new voices who don't always have the opportunity to do so. Overall, you should expect activities and events that have been created to bring you joy.

Check out many of our past projects below. Click on a photo to learn more about the show, activity or campaign.

Crowd Pleasers

These projects were very popular with their audiences…

Northern Soul

Born from a shopping centre chat, this project connected today's students with a passionate music and dance crowd from the 1970's. The project took the form of fitness sessions, an audio series, archived interviews, and even a short film.

How Shall We Begin Again?

The inspiration for Dance Included, this 2023 live installation gave participants a space to connect with their bodies and a chance to perform. This project brought 33 people together to create a live 10-hour performance.

Platform 8

Our involvement as part of the Collaborative Touring Network brought about 3 seasons of events and performances with touring and local artists alike.

Smoke & Mirrors

Smoke & Mirrors was our 2023 Bonfire Night event, sold out over two evenings in Paston Farm and Westraven Gardens. The event included performances, live music, and art from local Peterborough artists, and more.

Collaborations

These projects were only possible thanks to the connections and partnerships we developed with the artists and practitioners…

Rent Party Peterborough

We produced this 2021 show by Darren Pritchard as part of Moving Roots Touring Network, and delivered the spirit of 1920’s Harlem to Peterborough in a two-night run featuring local talent.

Burnt Out In Biscuit Land

We hosted Burnt Out In Biscuit Land as part of the Collaborative Touring Network, working closely with Jess Thom and the Key Theatre to re-frame how access was supported in the building.

Bunker of Zion

We made use of our connections with Peterborough’s schools to capture local voices and stories that were then incorporated into this show from John Pfumojena.

Cold Snap

Clare Currie’s one-woman show was developed in partnership with us as part of Platform 8 and directed by our Creative Producer, Kate Hall.

Creative Campaigns

These projects went beyond single events and highlighted our commitment to bringing new art and voices to Peterborough…

An adult helping a child write on a piece of fabric

The Dreamcatcher

2019 saw us connect with One To One Development Trust to explore the dreams of over 400 Peterborough residents, with a Virtual Reality installation and performances from several local artists.

#1000 Moments

In the #1000 Moments campaign that ran over 2019-2020, we were commissioned to get the city talking positively about the places where we live and work.

Fierce Talent

For this 2020-2021 campaign we connected our Sounding Board of young people with local artists to co-create works like Right Here Right Now, and a film that celebrated their creativity.

Right Here,

Right Now

These 2022 workshops explored themes of Identity, Passions and Failure, and how Peterborough's young people feel about them.
