Learn! Perform! Be a Star!

Every year Jumped Up Theatre, collaborate with Shiamak East Midlands, a member of the international Shiamak brand to bring Bollywood dance classes to Peterborough. They’re twice a year, termly programmes of 10-12 weekly classes, with each term ending in a trip to another city to perform amongst other Shiamak Dance co-horts from across the UK. It’s a fantastic evening filled with dance, music, and glitter! Fun for everyone involved.

Expectations in Class:

It is very important to us that our events provide a positive and respectful environment for everyone. We have drawn up some guidelines about our expectations for conduct during sessions, as well as the procedure for giving feedback during or after a session. Use the link below to read about our conduct guidelines and how to provide feedback.

Performance Opportunities

We offer students in our classes the opportunity to put their training into action by taking part in live performances in costume onstage to audiences at events around Peterborough and beyond. Previous events have included the Peterborough Celebrates Festival and Shiamak’s Summer & Winter Funk Showcases in venues across the UK.

The video here is from a performance at the Key Theatre’s Week(ender) event, where students from our classes danced with members of the public, performing choreography based on the iconic Bollywood film “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…” while being recorded by a professional filmmaking team, Reckless Abandon Media.
