Peterborough Culture Forum catch-up - 10 May 2021

This was an informal session where those who attended introduced themselves, and then went into a breakout room for a chat. Like we would do in an interval at a show, or as a people arrive for a meeting.

When we came back together we gathered some thoughts that people felt passionate about, some of which relate directly to some of the recommendations in the emerging Culture Strategy - which you can find on the Culture Forum page HERE.

Main themes coming through were:

1) Community groups being more involved in the decision making for cultural programming.

2) Pooling together of resources, including knowledge.

3) Everyone is responsible for making culture a success on this city.

4) Would be great to see some group bids,

5) Artists need support to feed there creative spark.

6) How can we create an appreciation fo the value of the arts - £ and otherwise.

7) Online content has a bigger reach, including global, this a is a positive thing but requires new skills and knowledge.

8) There are new voices and new forms that are worth exploring - from gamification to TwitchStreamers.

Next session, 4-5pm Monday 24 May. Is on the regular link - please sign upto the mailing list at the bottom of the page HERE to be sent reminders and updates.

And SAVE THE DATE for Monday 7 June, 4-5pm - Skill session: Contracts Basics

The session will be run by Jackie Elliman, Legal & Industrial Relations Manager at the Independent Theatre Council (ITC).
